Observe the many different types of trees around you. How can you tell they are not all the same type?
Go to your window. Look outside. Can you see a tree?
Start by observing the tree. Do you know what kind it is?
What colors do you see?
Is it tall or short?
What shape are the leaves?
If you can’t see a tree, can you find a picture of a tree in a book?
Take out your paper and draw the tree you see. Try to capture the shape of the leaves and colors in the tree.
Draw the leaves and color them in.
What do you notice?
Keep looking! How many different kinds of trees can you see? Can you make a forest of trees on your paper?
Add an animal. What would that animal eat?
My squirrel likes acorns from the oak trees.
